WhatsApp is refining its new message translation feature, allowing users to translate chat messages and channel updates directly within the app.
This feature, still under development, aims to break down language barriers by enabling users to translate messages automatically in the future.

The latest WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.24.26.9), now available on the Google Play Store, reveals that the translation process will be handled entirely on the user's device.
This ensures no data is shared with third-party services or WhatsApp's servers, preserving end-to-end encryption and user privacy.
To support offline translations, WhatsApp users will be able to download language packs in advance. Once installed, the translations will be processed locally, allowing users to read messages in different languages even without an internet connection.
However, it’s important to note that these translations should be viewed as indicative rather than fully accurate, due to occasional errors that may arise from offline processing.
While the feature is still being developed, WhatsApp's focus on privacy and security remains a priority. This feature is expected to improve communication across languages, making it easier for users to interact with people speaking different languages.
This update is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing effort to enhance its user experience without compromising security, and the feature will be rolled out more broadly in future updates.
