Police recovered the body of Sagar Gangwar, the 14-year-old son of popular Indian TV actress Sapna Singh, from a field in Izzatnagar locality of Bareilly in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Sapna Singh protested in Bareilly after the incident, and videos of her protest went viral on social media.
She ended the protest after police assured her of prompt action.
Police arrested Sagar’s two friends, Anuj and Sunny, for their involvement.
The post-mortem report did not confirm the exact cause of death but indicated traces of poison or a drug overdose.
During interrogation, Anuj and Sunny admitted to consuming alcohol and drugs with Sagar.
When Sagar lost consciousness, they dragged him to a field and left him there, fearing the consequences.
Sagar Gangwar was in the eighth grade and lived with his uncle, Om Prakash, in Anand Vihar Colony, Bareilly.
