Controversial internet personality Caroline Calloway appears to be making waves once again, seemingly claiming she had a past encounter with Luigi Mangione, the suspected killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

In her Instagram Stories, the accused scammer and self-proclaimed unreliable narrator shared screenshots of a text exchange stating, “OMG guys I literally f—ked the United Healthcare CEO assassin,” and “are you literally kidding me?”

The text, highlighted in blue, implies that Calloway herself sent the message to a friend.

She added to the post, “If you need me, I’ll be lying face down on the floor.”

When contacted for further details, Calloway declined to comment.

Calloway gained notoriety through her dramatic rise to social media fame, initially capturing attention with posts about her experiences at Cambridge University. She later faced allegations of backing out of a book deal and failing to deliver on promises for workshops she had sold tickets to.

Among her more questionable ventures was selling a homemade beauty product she dubbed Snake Oil.

Calloway, who once described herself as a scammer, gained hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers by sharing her life story. However, a former friend, Natalie Beach, later claimed that she was the one behind the captions that helped Calloway gain her initial fame.

In 2020, Calloway joined OnlyFans and eventually released a book titled Scammer in 2023.

She is not the only influencer attempting to gain visibility by associating with Mangione’s infamy.

According to The Cut by New York Magazine, other social media users have been tagging Mangione in their posts in an apparent bid to increase their own online engagement.
