The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and dry weather for most parts of the country, with light rain and snowfall expected in the northern and hilly regions over the next few days.
According to the meteorological department, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Kashmir, and adjacent mountainous areas are likely to experience light rain and snowfall at a few locations, Express News reported.
In the plains of K-P and the Pothohar region, fog is expected during the early morning hours, while areas in southern Punjab and upper Sindh are likely to see light fog in the mornings.
The federal capital Islamabad is expected to remain cold, with partly cloudy skies.
Similar weather is anticipated for Murree, Galyat, and surrounding areas, where light rain and snowfall may occur.
Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Battagram, Mansehra, and Abbottabad are also likely to witness light rain and snowfall.
The rest of the northern areas in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to remain cold with occasional light rain and snow.
In Sindh, cities like Sukkur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, and Mohenjodaro may experience fog during the morning hours, impacting visibility.
Meanwhile, Balochistan will experience mostly dry and cold conditions. Clear skies are expected across the province, with Quetta recording temperatures as low as minus two degrees Celsius.
The Ziarat and Kalat areas could see even colder temperatures, dropping to minus five and minus four degrees Celsius, respectively.
The plains of Balochistan, including Jiwani, Pasni, and Gwadar, are expected to experience cold winds, while Pishin, Sarawan, and Khanuzai are likely to see partly cloudy skies.
Light winds with cold temperatures are expected in Musa Khel, Dera Bugti, and Rakhni.
Residents of northern regions are advised to take necessary precautions due to the possibility of light snow and chilly weather, while drivers should be cautious of fog in the early morning hours in the southern areas.
The weather department has urged citizens to stay updated on the weather forecast, particularly in mountainous and fog-prone areas.
