ABBOTTABAD:

As winter conditions intensify and snowfall is expected in the Galyat region, the district administration has issued safety guidelines to protect both tourists and residents. The administration has instructed all relevant departments to remain on high alert to prevent incidents similar to those in previous years.

Authorities have mandated that road-clearing machinery be fully updated and prepared for immediate deployment to clear roads promptly in the event of snowfall or obstructions. Rescue teams are also on high alert, ready to respond swiftly to any emergencies.

The hotel association has been directed to ensure the safety of tourists, with a specific instruction to enforce a ban on the use of coal or other heating devices after midnight to prevent suffocation incidents.

Additionally, staff at Rural Health Centres (RHC) in Nathiagali and Khanaspur Ayubia have been ordered to remain available 24/7 to handle medical emergencies.

To maintain law and order, the police have been instructed to coordinate with all relevant teams. Assistant Commissioner Shamimullah announced that he would personally oversee operations, working closely with the police to ensure the smooth implementation of safety measures.

The district administration has urged all government departments to take an active role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and tourists visiting Galyat.
