A jawan of Pakistan Army was shot dead by armed bandits in Dhoraji Colony, within the limit of Bahadurabad police station.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as 37-year-old Adnan Abbasi, son of Ibrahim Abbasi.
Bilal, the brother of the deceased told The Express Tribune that the deceased was a soldier of the Pakistan Army and posted in 23 F&T Unit Malir Cantt. He was residing in Adamjee Nagar. The deceased was the father of two children, a son and a daughter. He hailed from Abbottabad.
The police have obtained the CCTV footage of the incident. It can be seen in the footage that the accused involved in the incident was already present at the crime site, waiting for Abbasi.
The deceased was walking towards his house. At a distance of a few steps from his house, the accused took out his pistol and fired a shot that hit him in the forehead. The accused fired another shot that pierced through the neck of the deceased.
When Adnan Abbasi fell down, the accused collected the wallet and other valuables of the deceased and fled.
The police suspect that the accused tried to portray the incident as a robbery. However, the police are investigating the incident.
Stray bullet victim dies
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old girl who was injured by a stray bullet on Saturday night near Orangi Town Mansoor Nagar died during treatment.
The deceased girl was a resident of Korangi and she along with her mother and brother was going to Orangi Town on a motorcycle to her paternal grandmother's house when she was hit by a stray bullet on her forehead.
The Iqbal Market Police have registered the case against the unknown accused on the complaint filed by the late girl's father Sheikh Dilawar Hussain and started investigation.
The deceased girl's father, Sheikh Dilawar Hussain, told the police that he was a resident of Korangi No. 5, J Area and worked in a hosiery factory.
Victim's father further stated, "At around 11.20pm, my son Saddam informed called me and said that he was taking his mother and sister back to home. When he reached in Mansoor Nagar Sector 11/5 area, suddenly, Ayesha Noor was hit by a stray bullet on her forehead due to which she was injured. She was immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but she died during the treatmen."
