Sabrina Carpenter recently shared insights into the creation of her hit single "Please Please Please" during an appearance on vocal coach Eric Vetro's BBC Maestro course, ‘Sing Like the Stars.’
Carpenter explained that the song allowed her to express a side of herself she had been eager to share. "It aligns perfectly with my musical influences and my own identity," she said, revealing that the track was inspired by real-life events.
The song's candid lyrics, which include the line "Heartbreak is one thing, my ego's another," reflect the challenges of a tumultuous relationship. Carpenter's comments came shortly after reports of her breakup with actor Barry Keoghan, who appeared in the song's music video.
Carpenter also discussed her songwriting process, highlighting the importance of lyrics, melody, and storytelling. She teased that the release was a long-awaited project for her fans. Additionally, she shared her upcoming holiday special, A Nonsense Christmas, and her upcoming European tour in March.
