Maryam Nawaz's first day in China culminates in signing of multiple MOUs

Punjab CM marks significant steps in her efforts to boost agriculture, healthcare, environmental initiatives

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had a busy first day in Beijing as part of her week-long official visit to China. She conducted five visits, held five meetings, and signed several MOUs, marking significant steps in her efforts to boost agriculture, healthcare, and environmental initiatives in Punjab.

One of the highlights of the day was the signing of an MOU between AI Force Tech, a Chinese company, and the Punjab Agriculture Department. This agreement will facilitate the establishment of a robotic agricultural equipment manufacturing plant in Punjab. 

CM Maryam highlighted her government's commitment to modernising Punjab's agriculture sector through advanced technology, particularly robotics, to improve farmers' productivity and prosperity.

She also visited the Blue Tech Clean Air Alliance to discuss strategies for combating air pollution. She met with Chairman Zi Hongsheng, and an MOU was signed between the Punjab Environment Department and the Alliance for Environmental Improvement.

Additionally, the CM visited Hygea Medical Technology Co where she discussed the latest trends in medical technology, including cancer treatment. 

An MOU was signed between the Punjab government and Hygea, focusing on enhancing healthcare in Punjab, particularly at the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital. She expressed her intent to transform Punjab’s healthcare system into a technology-driven one, with full support from Chinese experts.

CM Maryam also visited Beijing Shijitan Hospital, where she was briefed on China’s modern healthcare systems. She expressed interest in establishing a telemedicine link between Punjab hospitals and Shijitan Hospital for better healthcare services in Punjab.

Her visit to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport focused on exploring eco-friendly electric vehicle infrastructure and smart transportation systems. She was particularly impressed by Beijing's green transport model, which she plans to replicate in Punjab, especially in Lahore and other major cities, with expansions to the metro train network.

Throughout her visits, CM Maryam underscored the importance of Punjab's partnerships with Chinese institutions to advance infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. Her first day in China was marked by meaningful collaborations and a clear vision for integrating modern technology into Punjab's development.
