Pakistan to send manpower to Saudi Arabia, other gulf countries

The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), an attached department of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), has announced plans to export skilled manpower, including medical professionals, to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

An official source told state-run news agency that the medical professionals who meet the following prescribed qualifications and experience could apply for the jobs.

Medical professionals interested in the opportunity must meet the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Medicine (MBBS) or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution (essential).
  • Completion of HIMAA, ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS – Introductory Course (essential).
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, either as a processor/auditor of insurance claims in a health institution or insurance company (essential).
  • Candidates must be under 50 years of age. Both male and female applicants are eligible.

In addition to medical positions, the OEC is also recruiting for the construction sector. Interested candidates have until December 18, 2024, to submit their applications. The OEC is already exporting skilled workers to over 40 countries worldwide.

The available positions in the construction sector include:

  • Laboratory Manager (LM): Applicants must hold a BSc in Engineering, B-Tech, Graduation, or DAE in Civil Engineering, with at least 15 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role. The LM will manage laboratory staff and oversee lab and field operations, ensuring safety and adherence to company policies.

  • Laboratory Technician: Candidates must have a 3-year Diploma in Associate Engineering or a college degree in a science-related field. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for testing materials such as concrete, aggregate, soil, and asphalt.

Applicants are required to submit a bank challan along with their application: Rs. 1000 for medical professionals or laboratory managers, and Rs. 500 for laboratory technicians. The bank challan will be generated during the online application process.
