Trisha Paytas surprised fans with a brief but memorable appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL) during Paul Mescal’s 'Spotify Wrapped' sketch, alongside stars Ego Nwodim and Bowen Yang.
The skit featured Mescal boasting about his music lineup, which humorously included the fictional "anti-instrumentalist sound guru," Satoshi Gutmann, portrayed by Yang. Paytas joined the scene as Gutmann’s guest in a faux podcast, delivering the punchline, “The best bucy is celibacy.”
Paytas' SNL debut, however, reignited chatter about her long-standing feud with YouTuber Ethan Klein. A 2021 clip from their podcast Frenemies has gone viral, showing Klein jokingly vowing to "cut his arm off" if Paytas ever appeared on SNL.
The feud began in 2019 when Klein mocked Paytas for editing her photos. Their public squabbles escalated but eventually led to their joint podcast, Frenemies, in 2020. Despite moments of camaraderie, Paytas exited the show in 2021 after disagreements, officially ending their collaboration.

Now married to Moses Hacmon, the brother of Klein’s wife, Hila, Paytas maintains limited interaction with Klein. Klein recently called their last encounter “awkward,” though they exchanged pleasantries.
Paytas’ surprise SNL cameo proves her enduring presence in pop culture, despite past controversies.
