PBA delegation meets FBR chairman over taxation issues affecting broadcasting industry

PBA’s concerns to be addressed promptly: FBR chairman orders

A delegation from the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA), led by Ejazul Haq, Kazim Khan, Mohsin Ball Khan, Muhammad Ali Butt, and Ejaz Bhutta, met with the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Rashid Mehmood Langrial, and Member Inland Revenue Policy, Dr. Najeeb Memon, to address issues concerning the broadcasting industry’s taxation.

The delegation raised concerns about the complications and challenges arising from the removal of sales tax withholding adjustment from the online sales tax return form. They highlighted how this change has created confusion and difficulties for broadcasters, leading to increased financial burden.

The delegation also brought attention to the substantial financial strain caused by the amendments made to the online portal, which is proving to be an extraordinary financial burden on the industry.

In response, Chairman Langrial directed the relevant officials to immediately rectify the issues with the online sales tax return form to resolve the difficulties faced by broadcasters.

The PBA delegation expressed their gratitude to Chairman Langrial and his team for taking swift action to protect the industry from further financial losses.
