Demi Moore has provided an update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis' health, confirming that his condition remains "stable" after being diagnosed with aphasia, which has since progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
In an interview with Christiane Amanpour that aired on CNN on December 5, 2024, the 62-year-old actress discussed the challenges of Willis’s diagnosis and the emotional journey their family has been navigating.
“Given the givens, he's in a very stable place at the moment,” Moore shared, adding that it’s crucial for those affected by such conditions to meet the person where they are, emphasizing the love and joy that can still be shared in these difficult moments.
Moore, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, acknowledged the deep emotional toll of the situation, referring to it as a "great loss" while also highlighting the "beauty" and unexpected gifts that can emerge in such circumstances. "There is such loving and joy," she added.
Together, Moore and Willis share three daughters—Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30—while Willis has two younger daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, with his wife Emma Heming Willis. Reflecting on their family dynamics, Moore expressed how important it has been to maintain a supportive relationship with Willis, even after their separation. "We'll always be a family, just in a different form," she explained, emphasizing the evolving nature of their bond and their collective commitment to one another.
In addition to talking about Willis, Moore also shared personal insights on her own journey toward self-acceptance, inspired by conversations with her daughter Scout, who recently reflected on the importance of celebrating one’s strengths over focusing on perceived flaws.
