Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ book breaks records with 814,000 copies sold in just days

Taylor Swift wraps up 2024 by setting the record for the biggest album and now, the biggest book opening of the year.

Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated coffee-table book, The Eras Tour Book, has become the fastest-selling new book of 2024. The book, which reflects on Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, sold an astonishing 814,000 print copies over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to Circana BookScan. This milestone makes it the second-highest adult nonfiction book release in BookScan’s history, only behind former President Barack Obama’s 2020 memoir, A Promised Land, which sold 816,300 copies in its first week.

Priced at $39.99, Swift’s book was sold exclusively at Target stores and on the retailer’s website. The 256-page hardcover is filled with behind-the-scenes photos from the Eras Tour, along with personal reflections and sketches by Swift. Fans flooded Target stores on Black Friday to grab a copy, further fueling its rapid success.

Despite the book’s record-breaking sales, it has faced some criticism from fans who have pointed out multiple typographical errors and other mistakes within its pages. One example shared on social media showed the song title “this is me trying” from Swift’s Folklore album written as “this is me rying.”
