Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq has been reappointed as Pakistan's Special Representative for Afghanistan for his second term at the position on Thursday.
A formal letter of his appointment has been issued from Foreign Ministry in Islamabad with approval of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's office. His appointment was under consideration for a long time, but he always declined due to multiple reasons.
Since the Emirate e Islami Afghanistan came into power, the Islamabad/ Kabul relationship has deteriorated, and Islamabad failed on multiple fronts, observers have noted.
