Police register FIR of schoolgirl's rape

Case registered following suicide of victim who was sexually assaulted by Mehrab Khoso and undidentified man

Police have formally registered the First Information Report (FIR) and arrested the nominated suspect for allegedly raping a 7th grade student and posting her video on social media.

Besides the charge of rape, a case of pushing the child to suicide was also registered against two suspects including a nominee on the complaint of the mother of the deceased girl.

B Section Police Station registered the case following suicide of Urooj Fatima who was harassed and sexually assaulted by accused Mehrab Khoso and an undidentified man.

The complainant, Sonia Jatt, victim's mother, reported that Khoso and an unknown person used to harass her daughter when she was going to school and coming back home.

Three days ago, her daughter was going to school with her sister Kainat, the two men, Khoso and his unidentified accomplice forcefully took her to an unknown place and sexually assaulted her. They also made a video of the incident, which frustrated the minor girl to an extent that she committed suicide. The police have arrested Mehrab Khoso while the search for the other accused is on.

Meanwhile, renowned lawyer Sher Ali Behan has announced to fight the case of the victim without any fee and assured the victim's family of justice. According to Tando Adam DSP Dr Muhammad Moosa Abro, a case has been registered and the main accused has been arrested. More details will be known after the detailed postmortem report comes out. No matter how influential the accused are, justice will be provided to the victim's family.
