KARACHI:

Sindh police chief on Wednesday warned traffic police against standing in groups at busy intersections and stopping road users on pretext of checking license and vehicle's papers.

IG Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO) to evaluate the performance of the online driving license facility so far and the causes and prevention of traffic law violations.

IG Memon instructed the traffic police to refrain from unnecessary general checking on roads.

He stressed to adopt a lenient approach towards the citizens who forget to carry their driving licenses while traveling. However, in such cases, their driving license records should be checked online, "vehicles of unlicensed drivers should be impounded," the police chief said.
