Aliya Fakhri, the 43-year-old sister of Bollywood actor Nargis Fakhri, has been arrested in New York on charges of murder in connection with the deaths of her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, and his friend, Anastasia Ettienne. According to India Today, the incident, which has drawn international attention, allegedly took place in Queens, where authorities claim Aliya set fire to a two-story garage where the victims were sleeping.

According to the Queens District Attorney's office, the fire broke out on the morning of November 2. Witnesses reported hearing Aliya shout, "You are all going to die today," before igniting the blaze around 6:20AM. Ettienne briefly escaped the flames to warn Jacobs, but both were ultimately trapped inside as the fire engulfed the structure. Autopsy reports revealed that the victims died from a combination of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.

Aliya, who was arrested shortly after the incident, is currently being held at Rikers Island. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been denied bail. Her mother, speaking to local media, has rejected the allegations, stating, "I don't think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody."

While the case continues to unfold, Nargis has remained silent, refraining from any public comment about her sister's arrest. A source close to the Rockstar actor revealed to India Today that Nargis has not been in contact with Aliya for over two decades. "She has not been in touch with her sister for over 20 years. The actor learned about the incident through the news, just like everyone else," the source stated.

On the work front, Nargis recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Housefull 5, featuring co-stars Sonam Bajwa and Jacqueline Fernandez. The Instagram story, captioned "We are coming for you," quickly went viral, with fans questioning why she has chosen to remain silent regarding the news of her sister. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is slated for release on June 6 next year.

In addition to Housefull 5, Nargis is also gearing up for her role in the highly anticipated film Hari Hara Veera Mallu. For now, she seems intent on maintaining her distance from the legal turmoil surrounding her sister, focusing instead on her career in Bollywood.
