Differences within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have deepened following the security forces’ crackdown on the Islamabad protest, with key party leaders preparing to send a white paper to the party’s founder, Imran Khan, accusing the central leadership of mismanagement and negligence.
Sources reveal that several senior PTI members have voiced their frustrations, particularly targeting Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, and other central figures, accusing them of evading accountability. "Our names are in the FIRs, but Barrister Gohar always manages to escape," said one senior leader, as tensions within the party continue to rise.
Haleem Adil Sheikh, a prominent PTI leader, expressed his concerns during a meeting of the party’s core committee. "We need to know who their patrons are, or who gives them charms. We are facing FIRs, but the central leadership remains unaffected while the workers bear the brunt," he said.
In response, Shoyeb Shaheen, another core committee member, sarcastically remarked, "Let us know too, and we can also get those charms."
The core committee members held the central leadership responsible for the growing tension within the party, accusing them of failing to take responsibility. "Barrister Gohar was neither on the ground nor did he take a leadership role," one member remarked.
Meanwhile, an audio recording of Ali Mohammad Khan surfaced, in which he questioned the handling of negotiations by the central leadership. "If negotiations were ongoing, why weren't the rest of us informed?" Khan asked, further fuelling the internal discord within PTI.
As the internal rift widens, PTI’s once unified front appears to be increasingly fractured. Members of the party are calling for greater transparency and accountability from the leadership, while also seeking clarity on the party's future direction.
