Grammy-winning pop star Dua Lipa delivered one of India's most hotly anticipated concerts of the year in Mumbai on Saturday night.
The hitmaker headlined the second edition of the Zomata Feeding India Concert (ZFIC) at Mumbai's MMRA Grounds, which has a capacity of 60,000. The initiative is aimed at eradicating hunger and malnutrition in the country by 2030, and the concert sought to unite artists, changemakers, philanthropists and celebrities working towards the cause. According to the Economic Times, booking for the concert opened in August, with tickets selling out within minutes, despite costing upward of INR10,000.
Lipa landed in Mumbai on Thursday, oozing casual chic in a yellow T-shirt and loose-fitting trousers, with her arrival sending Indian fans into a frenzy before she went anywhere near a stage. As per the Hindustan Times, the singer arrived at a private airport and although she did not stop for a photos call, paparazzi snapped a glimpse of her regardless, sending social media abuzz. Soaking in the sights and sounds of the city, Lipa was later photographed twinning with beau Callum Turner in an all-black ensemble as the couple prepared to enjoy a dinner date two nights before her concert.
This marks Lipa's second performance in India. She last performed in the country in 2019 at the OnePlus Music Festival. She also visited India on holiday in 2023 when she explored Rajasthan, although, a holiday does not appear to be on the agenda for the busy vocalist. Lipa's website depicts a packed schedule for her Radical Optimism tour. Since November 20, Lipa has performed in Taipei, Taiwan, and Bangkok, Thailand, as well as Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After Mumbai, she will head over to Seoul, South Korea for her final Asian performances of the year.
