The Multan district administration has ramped up efforts to combat smog, implementing strict measures to improve air quality in the region.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Wasim Hamid Sandhu, presiding over a meeting with the District Regional Transport Authority (RTA) on Thursday, reviewed the progress of the ongoing crackdown against pollution-causing vehicles and industrial units.
During the briefing, it was revealed that over Rs15 million in fines had been imposed on vehicles emitting excessive black smoke, while more than 100 brick kilns contributing to smog had been demolished. Violators were fined an additional Rs2 million.
