A writ petition was submitted in the Lahore High Court on Thursday, seeking the recovery of senior court reporter and journalist Hafiz Shakir Mehmood Awan, who was allegedly abducted from his residence in Nishat Colony Cantt. The petition also calls for legal action against the FIA and Punjab Police for their alleged involvement in unlawful actions, including illegal detention, trespassing, harassment, and assault.
The petitioner argued that the incident is a blatant violation of fundamental rights guaranteed under Articles 4 and 9 of the Constitution of Pakistan. She requested the court to enforce these constitutional safeguards and direct authorities to recover her son.
