Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, on Thursday strongly criticized the government's violent response to what he described as peaceful protests at D-Chowk, alleging that PTI members were unfairly targeted.
He called for a judicial investigation and legal action against the Prime Minister, Interior Minister, and IG Police over the reported fatalities.
Achakzai appealed to international democracies for support, emphasizing the need for peace and adherence to constitutional principles. He urged the immediate release of the PTI founder, stating, "His release will not cause the sky to fall."
He also accused the government of widespread corruption and election manipulation, alleging that the February 8 polls were rigged, with votes reportedly sold for Rs700 million each. He described the current administration as corrupt and unconstitutional.
Labeling the government "illegitimate" Achakzai called on all political parties to unite and push for fresh elections within months, asserting that the victor should legitimately lead the nation.
He warned that growing public discontent could threaten national stability and stressed the importance of upholding the constitution to restore order.
Achakzai also condemned the misuse of resources, pointing out the contrast between funds spent on vote-buying and the lack of aid for the underprivileged. He called for independent domestic and foreign policies to safeguard Pakistan's sovereignty.
