As per reports, the death toll in Kurram District due to firing incidents has reached 102, while 138 people have been injured. Clashes between tribes in different areas are ongoing. Police and hospital sources reported that in recent firing incidents during clashes between tribes, two more individuals have been killed and six injured.
Meanwhile, on November 21, another injured victim, Muhammad Ali, from the firing incident on passenger vehicles in Mandori Ochit, Lower Kurram, succumbed to his injuries. This brings the death toll from the attack on passenger vehicles to 52.
In the past week, a total of 102 people lost their lives, and 138 have been injured in firing incidents in Kurram District. Additionally, the main Peshawar-Parachinar highway remains closed to all traffic. Internet and mobile services are suspended, and all educational institutions have been shut down.
MNA Engineer Hameed Hussain stated that the closure of roads has halted the supply of food, oil, and medicines, increasing the difficulties faced by the public.
He emphasised the need for immediate measures to reopen the roads. Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud noted that members of the grand peace jirga from Kohat Division are arriving in Kurram District to hold negotiations with the elders of the conflicting parties in an effort to restore peace.
