Landhi police have registered a case for robbing a widow of Rs 2.7 million worth of her late husband's GP funds during a robbery bid 10 days after the incident.

Details revealed that two motorcycle-riding bandits snatched a purse from a woman named Wajiha on November 12 near Ghafoor Suites No. 6 in the jurisdiction of Landhi Police station.

The purse contained cash amounting to Rs 2.7 million, a mobile phone, an ID card, a cheque book, and other belongings. The incident was promptly reported to the Landhi police, but they initially delayed to take any action in view of jurisdictional dispute.

Wajiha's brother, Iftikhar. the complainant, informed police that he along with his sister, Wajiha, had withdrawn Rs2.7 million from a bank branch in Area Market, Korangi. The money was kept in his sister's purse. As they reached near Ghafoor Suites in Landhi, two motorcycle riding bandits, dressed in traditional shalwar kameez, intercepted their car at gunpoint and snatched the purse from his sister.
