Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal against election tribunal's decision of recounting of votes at 15 polling stations in PB-45 Quetta, Balochistan.
A three-member SC bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed and comprising Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Aqeel Abbasi heard the electoral disputes cases.
During the hearing of the appeal filed by Ali Madak Jatak, returning candidate from PB-45, against the election tribunal's decision of recounting of votes in 15 polling stations, Justice Aqeel Abbasi said the case is pertaining to conflict in Form 45 and Form 47 and the record reflects the contradiction in both forms.
Justice Irfan Saadat Khan said that there were serious allegations as ballot papers disappeared a day ago of election. The court discharged the case.
In another electoral dispute case, the Supreme Court accepted Ali Hasan Zehri's appeal seeking recounting of votes in PB-21 Hub. The court referred the matter to ECP and ordered the electoral watchdog to decide the recounting of votes plea after rehearing it.
