Certificate of war

The US media is almost all going bonkers ever since Trump has won the 2024 election. In the days leading up to the election, the liberal media in the US was reporting that the race was a close one according to the so-called credible polls that they said they had conducted. The closer America got to the election, the more aggressive the media lies became because they made the case based on their so-called reliable polls that Kamala was going to win the election. I wrote about it in this space before too.

Nowadays, the favourite go-to argument of the same liberal media is that Trump is going to undo all the great things that Biden did for climate change. We know that Trump is no friend of climate and he even called climate change a hoax. However, I struggled with finding the concrete actions that Biden had taken for tackling climate change. He may have paid lip service to the Paris Climate Agreement but I am not aware of anything that he actually did to help further the cause. Here is what I am aware of though: he practically begged Saudi Arabia to drill for more oil. For those who may still not know, the main driver of global warming is the continued use of fossil fuel which Biden asked Mohammad Bin Salman to drill for. I am also aware that Biden was a great advocate of fracking, which is extremely harmful for the environment.

Today, I read and listened to the news saying, "Biden allows Ukraine to strike Russia with long range US missiles." Here is the problem of the US liberal media: the war crimes of the Democrats aren't bad enough. There is nothing wrong or bad that the Democrats can do. The Democrats are just incapable of committing any sins. That really is the mindset. Take a good look at the quoted words above. The Democratic president "allows" Ukraine to attack Russia? Since when does the US give certificates of Halal wars? Is it Halal for a country to attack another as long as the US "allows" it?

I remember America invaded an entire country because Bush argued that the Taliban "allowed" Bin Laden to use their land for planning attacks against America. I also remember Iraq being invaded because apart from the WMDs lies, it was alleged that Saddam "allowed" Al Qaeda elements to be perched in northern Iraq. I also remember from our recent past that Biden executed the peace deal with the Taliban where America demanded that the Taliban wouldn't "allow" their land to be used by terrorist groups to plan and execute attacks against America. America justifies Israeli attacks killing children by arguing that those children and their parents "allow" their streets and neighbourhoods to be used by Hamas. Well, I guess the emperor can kill thousands with his ships and navies and call himself an emperor and the pirate is a criminal because he killed one with his little boat.

What about Ukraine's sovereignty while we are at it? Shouldn't the country be "allowed" to go to war by the consent of its citizens? I presented all these arguments and more to some of my hardcore ultra nationalist American friends. They argued that there was a difference in what I was saying and what Biden actually did. I was intrigued so I asked them to explain to me where I was making that mistake. They said that Biden gave permission to Ukraine, that those US missiles that America had given them, could be and should be used against Russia, which were not allowed to be used before.

I wonder what could be the intended use of a weapon one carries while en route to rob a bank. Missiles don't make omelets in case you are wondering.
