Two monkeys created a stir in Karachi’s Soldier Bazaar area, prompting wildlife authorities to step in and locate the animals.
Residents reported spotting the monkeys near Albela Chowk, with Salman, a local, alerting authorities early Wednesday morning after seeing them near Masoom Shah Mosque.
The Sindh Wildlife Department responded swiftly, dispatching a team led by Inspector Ejaz Nondani to capture the monkeys. Authorities also reached out to Karachi Zoo to verify the number of monkeys in their care, suspecting they may have escaped.
Social media played a key role in drawing attention to the incident after a video of a monkey roaming the same neighbourhood went viral four days earlier.
Efforts to safely capture the animals are ongoing.
