ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court's constitutional bench has dismissed a plea challenging the army chief's service extension.

A seven-member constitutional bench led by Justice Aminud Din Khan heard several pleas. The bench dismissed the plea against army chief's service extension as the plaintiff failed to proceed.

In another case, the law officers from Punjab and K-P told the court that the provinces have made legislation for tax imposition on use of underground water. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar directed other provinces to make legislation in this regard, adding the cases will last longer in absence of the legislation.
