ICT services export soars 35%

ICT remittances in Pakistan surged 34.9%, reaching $1.206B in Jul-Oct FY24-25, led by export growth.

Remittances received in the wake of information and communication technology (ICT) exports have recorded a significant increase of 34.9%, reaching $1.206 billion during the first four months (Jul-Oct) of fiscal year 2024-25, said Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja.

In a statement, she said ICT exports were $894 million in the same period of last year. Khawaja said in October 2024, the remittances from ICT services export amounted to $330 million, a 38.6% increase over $238 million in October 2023.

She stated that steps are being taken to increase IT exports on the directives of the prime minister, adding that the Ministry of IT, Pakistan Software Export Board and IT industry are committed to increasing the country's IT exports.
