Quincy Jones, the legendary music and film producer, was posthumously awarded an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards in Hollywood on Sunday. The event, held just weeks after his passing at 91 from pancreatic cancer, saw his daughter Rashida Jones accept the award, sharing that Jones was "really excited to attend tonight."

Renowned for producing hits for Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson, Jones also left his mark on Hollywood with iconic films like The Color Purple and In Cold Blood. Jamie Foxx introduced the award, praising Jones’ influence on both music and cinema.

The evening also celebrated other honorees, including James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, humanitarian filmmaker Richard Curtis, and casting director Juliet Taylor. Highlights included a heartfelt musical tribute by Jennifer Hudson and appearances by A-listers like Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez.

The Governors Awards, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, served as both a celebration of industry veterans and an unofficial kickoff for Oscars campaign season.
