The Indonesian embassy organised on Saturday a high-profile networking event to strengthen economic collaboration with Pakistan following successful expos in Jakarta and the CEO Summit in Bali.
The gathering celebrated the success of three pivotal business events – the 39th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), the Indonesia-South and Central Asia Business Forum, Tourism Bali and the CEO Summit 2024, held in Jakarta and Bali from October 7 to 16, 2024. Pakistani businessmen who participated in the above key events, alongside prospective traders eager to explore opportunities with Indonesia, were present at the networking event.
It served as a critical platform for feedback, follow-up and exploring ways to strengthen economic ties between Indonesia and Pakistan.
Indonesian Embassy Charge d'Affaires Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma praised the unprecedented participation of Pakistani delegates in the key events in Indonesia.
"For the first time in TEI history, a significant number of Pakistani business representatives attended major events, highlighting a new chapter of growth and collaboration. This is a testament to the strong and growing ties between the two countries," he stated. Kusuma emphasised the importance of exchange of scientific and technological research for addressing shared challenges such as environmental issues. He shared insights from Indonesia's success in combating haze in the island of Sumatra through innovative palm oil plantation management.
CEO Club Pakistan President Dr Ijaz Nisar stressed the importance of structured, result-oriented efforts, with a focus on the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Pakistan in 2025. Event participants concurred that the strengthening relationship between the Indonesian and Pakistani business communities served as a foundation for collaboration in trade, technology and cultural exchanges. A central focus was the 39th TEI, which showcased Indonesia's leading products, innovations and investment opportunities. The event attracted a record 229 Pakistani participants, positioning Pakistan as the ninth largest group of attendees, according to Indonesia's Ministry of Trade.
