Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, a prominent leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) and former senator, has passed away in Peshawar.

He was 84 years old.

Bilour had been suffering from kidney disease for several months and had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Peshawar.

His brother, senior ANP leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, confirmed his death earlier today.

Ilyas Bilour had been a key figure in the ANP, serving as a senator in 2012 and remaining associated with the party throughout his political career.

His son, Ghazanfar Bilour, later joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which led to Ilyas Bilour stepping away from active politics.

The funeral prayer for Ilyas Bilour will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Wazir Bagh in Peshawar, as confirmed by ANP leader Samer Haroon Bilour. He was the brother of late ANP leader Bashir Ahmed Bilour and Ghulam Ahmed Bilour.
