Former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, citing grievances related to case registrations, political restrictions, and other issues.
The petition has been submitted under Article 184(3) of the Constitution, naming the interior, law, and defence ministries, along with the chief secretaries and police chiefs of all four provinces, bringing the total number of respondents to 15.
In the petition, Imran has requested that a judicial inquiry by carried out by a three-member commission led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and comprising Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Munib Akhtar.
The commission would investigate the alleged injustices faced by PTI leaders and its members, with a focus on upholding basic rights of citizens, ensuring freedom of expression, right to peaceful protest and fair trials.
