Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, speaking at a press conference at the Directorate of Electronic and Social Media, has said that from November 1 until today, a total 22,103 vehicles were inspected by the Excise Department. Out of these, 115 vehicles were found plying without any registration and 1,304 vehicles were tax defaulters, which were impounded. The documents of 1,472 vehicles were seized.
Owners of the tax defaulter vehicles paid Rs16.5 million in outstanding dues. Fines amounting to Rs873,000 were imposed on them.
Second auction of premium number plates is scheduled for December 1 through the www.premiumnumber.excise.gov.pk portal.
