HBO has confirmed that Euphoria Season 3 will officially begin filming in January 2025, dispelling rumors about possible delays. During a press event, HBO and Max Chief Casey Bloys assured fans that production will commence as planned, with “a start date, mid to late January,” and an eight-episode structure similar to previous seasons. Bloys further emphasized that all main actors are confirmed to participate, despite recent news of cast members, including Zendaya and Jacob Elordi, joining other major projects.
The new season comes three years after the Season 2 premiere, with a storyline rumored to include a five-year time jump for Rue, played by Zendaya, possibly as a private investigator. Bloys highlighted Euphoria’s significant impact, noting that the show has "created some genuine movie stars." Cast members like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, and Eric Dane are set to reprise their roles, though Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, tragically passed away in 2023. Barbie Ferreira, who previously portrayed Kat, has also indicated that she will not return.
Created by Sam Levinson, Euphoria has been a critical and commercial success, earning 25 Emmy nominations and nine wins, including two Best Actress awards for Zendaya. Levinson, along with an executive team that includes Ravi Nandan, Drake, and Adel “Future” Nur, will continue to steer the show’s creative direction as it gears up for production. Euphoria Season 3 is set to air on HBO and Max, with its previous seasons drawing significant viewership and acclaim.
