New surveillance footage confirms rapper PnB Rock’s baby mama was not involved in his murder
On Tuesday (November 11), 'CBS News Philadelphia' reported that recently obtained surveillance footage from the Los Angeles Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant, where PnB Rock was fatally shot, sheds light on the circumstances surrounding the attack and dispels prior conspiracy theories about the cause.
PnB Rock, best known for his hit “Selfish,” was shot during a robbery aimed at his jewelry while dining with his girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang.
The latest footage shows a person believed to be a restaurant employee greeting the rapper upon arrival and making a phone call shortly afterward. Notably, there was also a 40-minute delay before PnB Rock’s food was served, raising questions about the timing.
Following the incident, online accusations targeted Sibounheuang, suggesting her social media post tagging their location contributed to the tragic event.
Even rapper Kodak Black initially blamed her, though he later publicly apologized. The Los Angeles Police Department also commented at the time, with Chief Michel Moore confirming that PnB Rock was targeted because of an Instagram post.
Reports indicated that PnB Rock himself shared a post from the parking lot, giving the attackers time to reach the scene. In a heartfelt Instagram post following his death, Sibounheuang expressed her pain, writing, “I am 100% not ok... My man saved my life, Throwing me under that table. I’m not supposed to be here but bc of him. I am. No one would be able to handle this.”
In September, Freddie Lee Trone was sentenced to 31 years to life in prison for his involvement in PnB Rock’s murder, convicted of charges including murder and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Prosecutors stated that Trone’s son, just 17 at the time, acted on his father’s orders and fatally shot PnB Rock. Trone’s co-defendant, Tremont Jones, received a 12-year sentence after being found guilty of conspiracy and robbery, with prosecutors stating that he tipped off Trone about the rapper’s location.
Trone’s son remains in custody and, after being deemed not competent to stand trial, is undergoing treatment to reassess his condition.
