Tech gaffe lands police raid in TV channel office

The staff of a television channel in Clifton Block 4 was shocked to see policemen armed for combat rush into their office.

As if a scene out of a comedy-action film, the Special Investigation Unit of police following the location of a high-profile target raided the wrong building.

SIU SSP Muhammad Shoaib Memon acknowledged that a SIU CIA team was engaged in an investigation between Thursday and Friday, November 8 when the location of one accused was received with the help of a technical team who was found in Clifton Block 4. However it mistakenly went to the adjacent building instead of the actual building due to the short distance of the location. The SIU team apologised for coming to the wrong place, reached the right building next door, got the desired target and came back to the SIU office.
