Following his re-election campaign, president-elect Donald Trump has detailed plans to implement strict prohibitions on gender-affirming care for both minors and adults once he returns to office.

In a recent video statement, the incoming president vowed to revoke existing federal support for programs that promote sex and gender transition across all ages. "Here’s my plan to stop the chemical, physical, and emotional mutilation of our youth," Trump said.

“On day one, I will revoke Joe Biden's policies on so-called gender-affirming care. Ridiculous. A process that involves giving kids puberty blockers, mutating their physical appearance, and ultimately performing surgery on minor children. Can you believe this?” he stated, promising to sign an executive order that would compel federal agencies to halt all programs supporting gender transitions.

Additionally, Trump plans to ask Congress to cut off taxpayer funding for gender-affirming treatments and to push for a federal law that would prevent “sexual mutilation” of minors across the country.

He also proposed excluding hospitals and healthcare providers who offer these services from Medicaid and Medicare, and suggested creating a right for individuals to sue doctors who provided gender-affirming care to minors. Trump went on to discuss potential investigations into pharmaceutical companies and hospital systems that, he claims, may have obscured adverse effects of gender-transitioning treatments.

The proposed agenda includes investigating alleged hormone and puberty blocker distribution, requiring parental consent for any gender or identity changes for minors, and promoting what he described as “positive nuclear families” with traditional gender roles.

Trump’s policy agenda includes a Congressional bill to define government-recognized genders strictly as male and female, as assigned at birth.
