A library book published in 1899 has made its way back to Worcester Public Library in Massachusetts, 51 years after its due date.
“The Early Work of Aubrey Beardsley” was originally checked out on May 22, 1973.
Recently found in Boston, the book was returned first to Cambridge Public Library before reaching its rightful place in Worcester.
“It’s rare to see such a find, and in such good condition,” said Alex London from Worcester Public Library to the Telegram & Gazette.
Interestingly, Worcester Public Library doesn’t charge overdue fees.
