In Dir, heavy rain late at night brought cold weather and cleared the pollution, but the hailstorm destroyed crops and fruit orchards.

According to details, the rain disrupted the electricity system, and power supply has been cut off in various areas since last night.

Light snowfall occurred in the upper areas, including Kumrat, Jehaz Banda, and other mountainous regions. The rain intensified the cold, and people started wearing warmer clothes.

In the Tehsil Rustam of Mardan and surrounding areas, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and severe hailstorm occurred. The rain cleared the air pollution, and the weather became colder.

Mainly dry weather predicted

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly dry weather in Lahore and most other parts of Punjab with scattered rain in the Potohar region on Monday.

As per a PMD release, continental air prevails over most parts of the country. A westerly wave prevails over upper parts of the country, which will likely strengthen. Under the influence of these weather systems, mainly dry weather is expected in most districts of Punjab.

However, rain and wind are likely in the Potohar region, Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Thunderstorms are also likely at isolated places.

The rains, though scattered and light, will likely provide some relief by decreasing the smog intensity in parts of the province.

Lahore's minimum temperature will likely remain between 17-19°C on Monday and 16-18°C on Tuesday.

Smog persisted in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas in past 24 hours.
