Fast bowler Haris Rauf has been named Man of the Series after a stellar performance in Pakistan’s ODI series against Australia, where he claimed 10 wickets at an impressive average of 12.
Rauf's remarkable bowling spearheaded Pakistan’s bowling attack, securing the team’s first ODI series win on Australian soil in 22 years.
Throughout the series, Rauf displayed consistency, taking crucial wickets in each of Pakistan's victories.
He was named Player of the Match in both of Pakistan's wins, ultimately concluding with a tally of 10 wickets, just one short of Waqar Younis's record of 11 wickets in a single series, achieved in 1990.
The final match in Perth saw Pakistan dominate, bowling out Australia for a modest 140 runs in 31.5 overs. Rauf contributed 2 wickets for 24 runs in 7 overs.
He joins an elite list of Pakistani bowlers, including Saeed Ajmal, Naseem Shah, and Umar Gul, who have also taken 10 wickets in a single ODI series.
Supported by teammates Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who claimed three wickets each in the series-deciding game, Rauf helped Pakistan clinch an eight-wicket win, sealing the series 2-1.
Saim Ayub (42) and Abdullah Shafique (37) led the chase, as Pakistan comfortably reached the target in under 27 overs.
The win was celebrated by fans and marks a pivotal moment for Pakistan, who, under Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership, recovered strongly after losing the first match in Melbourne.
