Former Blue’s Clues host Steve Burns has once again connected with fans in a heartfelt way, sharing a wordless message of calm after the 2024 U.S. presidential election, in which Donald Trump emerged victorious over Kamala Harris. On November 6, Burns posted a TikTok video where he held two cups—one for himself and one seemingly for his viewers—as he leaned on a fence, taking several deep, reflective breaths. The video resonated widely, providing comfort to those processing the intense election atmosphere.
Steve, who hosted Blue’s Clues on Nick Jr. starting in 1996, chose to keep the video simple, without dialogue, letting the sound of his breathing and ambient noise deliver the message. Viewers, still emotional over the election, filled the comments with gratitude. “The little nod made me burst into tears,” shared one user, while others thanked him for “showing up for us today.”
Known for his empathetic connection with fans, Burns often uses social media to check in. Earlier this year, he encouraged followers to share their thoughts in another TikTok, warmly responding, “It’s good to hear from you.” Burns also marked Blue’s Clues’ 25th anniversary in 2021, reminding fans of how much they had accomplished together since he left the show in 2002.
