A woman has died in a suspected poisoning incident in Karachi’s Defence area, sparking a police investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death.

The deceased, identified as 42-year-old Sana, was found unresponsive in her flat near Muslim Commercial Lane No. 8 in Defence Phase 6, according to local police.

Upon being alerted, police arrived at the scene and collected preliminary evidence.

Rescue workers from Chhipa Welfare Association assisted in transporting the body to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem examination and legal formalities.

Rescue officials reported that the woman’s death appears to be linked to the consumption of a toxic substance.

While initial reports suggest poisoning as the cause, the exact circumstances remain unclear.

The Darakhshan police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to gather further details. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether foul play is suspected and are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
