Haloki police apprehended two members of a gang involved in burglaries under the pretext of providing repair services.
The suspects, identified as Shakeel and Usman, were arrested from the Khayaban-e-Amin area following a tip-off, according to a police spokesperson.
The gang targeted homes by pretending to offer repair services for household items. Once inside, they would assess opportunities for theft, usually waiting for the absence of male household members.
In cases where they found only women at home, the suspects allegedly took them hostage to carry out the robbery and then fled the scene.
The police raid on the suspects' hideout led to the recovery of stolen goods, including nine tolas of gold jewellery, a motorbike, mobile phones and cash.
