WATCH: Rizwan and team arrive in Melbourne for series against Australia
Mohammad Rizwan, the new captain of Pakistan's white-ball cricket team, and his squad have landed in Melbourne, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The team arrived on Wednesday ready to prepare for their upcoming series against Australia.
Rizwan was joined by vice-captain Salman Ali Agha and players Abdullah Shafiq, Aamer Jamal, Saim Ayub, Kamran Ghulam, Haseebullah, and Arafat Minhas.
Speaking about the team composition, Rizwan said, “We have created a combination of young and senior players. We've included some players from the Champions Cup, while Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq are excellent players; we will miss their contributions.”
Earlier, key players such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah also arrived in Melbourne on Tuesday. Babar, who attracted a lot of fans at the airport eager for selfies, was among the standout figures of the group.
It's important to note that Babar, Shaheen, and Naseem were rested during the second and third Tests against England earlier this month due to disappointing performances in the first Test. However, they are expected to return for the ODI series starting on November 4.
