Omar Ayub, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, stated that Bushra Bibi has been acquitted from her cases on merit, and founder of PTI, Imran Khan, will also be released soon.
Speaking to the media after appearing in a special anti-terrorism court, Omar noted that over 85 of their inmates are in military courts.
He mentioned that Hassan Niazi and Shah Mahmood Qureshi are also in custody, adding, "We salute these sacrifices; they will not be in vain."
He stated that yesterday, Kanwal Shauzab and other women held a peaceful press conference outside Adiala Jail, but it was raided.
He called Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz's statement from the day before completely absurd, insisting that all these are fabricated cases and that they stand with the founder of PTI.
Omar Ayub said, "I express my respect for Imran Khan; the way he stands with courage deserves the nation’s salute, and he will be released soon." He added, "Electricity has been cut off inside the jail, the food is inadequate causing him nausea, and the water supply has also been stopped."
He said, "The ATC court has distributed copies of the May 9 case, which is also being heard in ATC Lahore and Faisalabad. Since warrants were issued here, I have come to attend the proceedings. Hearings will continue tomorrow and the day after."
The Leader of the Opposition said, "Bushra Bibi spent nine months in jail with great dignity, and I salute her resilience. Her food was tampered with, and various substances were mixed in, yet she stood firm like a wall of iron."
Notice issued to Punjab officials over Imran Khan's withdrawn jail facilities
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued notices to the interior secretary, law secretary, Punjab Home Department, and the superintendent of Adiala Jail regarding a petition challenging the withdrawal of prison facilities from former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
On Tuesday, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition filed by Noreen Niazi, represented by Advocate Shoaib Shaheen.
The petition argues that Imran Khan's B-class facilities have been unjustly revoked, despite him being entitled to them.
The claims include the removal of access to newspapers, television, exercise, and the cutting off of electricity in his cell. Additionally, he has been barred from communicating with his children via phone. Shaheen contended that these actions were taken unlawfully and in violation of court orders.
