Claims emerge alleging Lil Durk ordered killing of OTF Jam’s baby mama
Chicago rapper Lil Durk was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Florida on October 24 and charged in connection with a murder-for-hire plot targeting Atlanta rapper Quando Rondo.
Following Lil Durk's arrest, widespread speculation arose online, with various theories claiming his involvement in other alleged crimes, including the murders of Stephon Mack and Octavia Redmond.
Influencer and YouTuber Poetik Flakko posted on October 27, sharing screenshots from a December 2023 CBS News article titled “2 men charged in alleged murder-for-hire slaying in Roseland.” These online theories suggest that Lil Durk may have been involved in retaliatory murders, although no official reports substantiate these claims.
Octavia Redmond, a postal worker, was shot multiple times while delivering mail in broad daylight on July 19, 2024, in West Pullman, South Chicago. She was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center shortly after the incident. The shooter’s getaway vehicle was later found abandoned and burned nearby. Surveillance footage released by law enforcement captured the masked assailant getting into a stolen car and fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.
Two months later, a 15-year-old boy was arrested in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and identified as Redmond's killer. He was charged with felony first-degree murder and extradited to Chicago, where he is set to appear in court on November 1. Despite online speculation, no credible links have been established between Redmond and Lil Durk or OTF Jam.
In a separate incident, Stephon Mack was shot and killed on January 7, 2022, in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago. While leaving the Youth Peace Center, he was ambushed by two assailants. A security guard present during the shooting survived. In December 2023, federal charges were brought against two men, Anthony Montgomery-Wilson and Preston Powell, in connection with Mack's murder. Montgomery-Wilson pleaded not guilty, while Powell remained at large.
Lil Durk’s recent charges connect to the murder-for-hire of Lul Pab, which federal authorities allege was retaliation for the 2020 murder of his friend and collaborator, King Von. King Von was killed in a confrontation involving Quando Rondo’s entourage in Atlanta on November 6, 2020. Charges against the suspect, Timothy “Lul Timm” Leeks, were dropped under Georgia’s “stand-your-ground” law, claiming self-defense.
Both Lil Durk and his late brother DThang have been linked to a series of violent incidents, but as of now, the investigations into these cases continue without conclusive evidence tying them to the rapper's alleged involvement.
