Anna Kendrick recently revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she often forgets her role in the Twilight saga, despite its massive impact on pop culture. Reflecting on the experience, Kendrick explained, “I had done a silly tweet where I said, ‘Holy shit. I just remembered I was in Twilight.’ People thought I was joking, but it’s true, in a way.” The actress admitted that while she remembers filming, she doesn’t always associate herself with the Twilight frenzy due to her peripheral role as Jessica Stanley, Bella Swan’s friend, which kept her out of the intense fan attention.
Kendrick expressed gratitude for not being in the “eye of the storm” alongside Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who faced unprecedented fame and scrutiny. Her character, a high school friend to Bella, was one of the few to remain human throughout the franchise. “I just had to show up and say dumb, funny stuff,” Kendrick laughed, comparing her experience to her costars’ heavier responsibilities.
Now focused on her directorial debut, Woman of the Hour, based on the true story of a serial killer on The Dating Game, Kendrick is embracing new challenges. However, she fondly recalls her time in Twilight, describing it as a quirky chapter in her career, a role she never expected to gain such prominence in her filmography.
