Pakistan’s 13th consignment of humanitarian aid heads to Gaza, Lebanon

The latest shipment carries 100 tons of winter tents and blankets, routed from Islamabad to Gaza via Amman

Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has dispatched its 13th consignment of humanitarian aid for Gaza and Lebanon

The shipment follows Prime Ministerial directives to support those affected by the ongoing conflict.

The latest shipment includes 100 tons of winterised tents and blankets, sent from Islamabad to Amman, Jordan, before reaching Gaza.

This latest aid package brings Pakistan’s total relief efforts to 1,381 tons of essential supplies sent to the region.

The send-off ceremony at Islamabad International Airport was attended by Parliamentarian Barrister Aqeel Malik, Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan Zuhair M. H. Darzaid, and representatives from NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Armed Forces.

At the ceremony, officials underscored the urgent need for relief in Gaza and Lebanon, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to aiding vulnerable communities.

Ambassador Darzaid expressed profound gratitude for Pakistan’s support, calling the aid a vital lifeline and a symbol of solidarity and unity between the nations.

Pakistan has also established the “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon” to collect public donations for war-affected communities.

This ongoing relief effort includes 10 shipments to Gaza, two to Lebanon, and the safe evacuation of 71 Pakistani nationals from the conflict zone.

PM Shehbaz calls on Pakistanis to contribute to Gaza, Lebanon relief fund

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Shehbaz urged the public, particularly the wealthy, to donate generously to the Prime Minister’s relief fund for Gaza and Lebanon, as Pakistan continues to send humanitarian aid to the conflict-affected areas.

He also instructed Pakistani ambassadors in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt to prioritise aid distribution to ensure it reaches those in need.

The Prime Minister called on media outlets to increase awareness about the relief fund and encouraged the nation to support victims of the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Lebanon.

He assured NGOs that the Government of Pakistan would support their efforts to send relief to those affected in Gaza and Lebanon.

PM Shehbaz welcomes Palestinian students, pledges free education and support

Prime Minister Shehbaz warmly welcomed a group of Palestinian students to Pakistan, offering them free education and comprehensive support during their stay.

Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad on Wednesday, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Palestinians, especially those affected by the Gaza conflict.

“Pakistan is your second home, and we will ensure your stay here is comfortable,” Prime Minister assured the students, emphasising quality education at no cost.

He also praised organisations like Al-Khidmat Foundation for aiding students from conflict zones.

The Prime Minister extended sympathies on behalf of Pakistan’s government and citizens, promising further support for Palestinian students, with plans to invite more students from Gaza to pursue education in Pakistan, all expenses covered by the state.
