JUI-F terms case against Mengal 'fascism'

ISLAMABAD:

JUI-F has termed the registration of a case against BNP-M Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal the worst precedent of 'fascism'.

Commenting on the FIR lodged against the BNP-M chief, JUI-F spokesman Aslam Ghori said his party has always condemned political victimization. He urged an end to the tradition of filing politically motivated cases.

Political governments should uphold a distinction between democratic rule and martial law, Ghori said, adding, "How can one protest against non-democratic forces if democratic governments engage in the character assassination of political leaders?"
